KimYe, Please Go Away-ye…

Bonjour, mes bons amis!!

There is so much to be happy about and thankful for today, such as those three young women who escaped from their kidnappers’ home in Cleveland; we’re so thankful for our moms, both biological and adoptive mother figures; and finally, we are so thankful for people like Kim Kardashian and Kanye West known as KimYe (cuz ain’t nobody got time fo’ using their full names) for showing us exactly how we should NOT dress or be… in general… with everything… in life.

I don’t consider myself an expert of couture, but I am proud of my sense of fashion and style.  And while I respect that a lot of fashion is truly art, I also recognize that a lot of it is just hideous.  But occasionally there is the imposter garment(?) that someone is foolishly trying to call “en vogue” thinking that the amateur or fashion-less would never be the wiser to recognize.

Who told Kim it was okay to wear her New Jersey Aunt’s sofa slipcover and throw it over her pregnant belly, covered head to toe INCLUDING FINGERS, to what is considered the Oscars of the fashion world?  Seriously, the only thing she’s missing is the plastic over the slipcover and maybe a few doilies to boot.

No wonder Kanye looks so happy to be standing next to his baby’s mama.

I’m confident Madame Chanel has rolled over in her tweed grave like she probably has for the last, what, 8 years or so, that KimYe separately and together have been making fools of themselves.  Together, they are the Lindsay Lohan of celebrity couples with one shamefulness after another – a sex tape, an on-air insult of the then-POTUS, an on-air thievery of music award thunder, an overly publicized farce wedding lasting fewer days than the number of underwear most women own, and an album rumored to have the title “I Am God.”

Go away, KimYe.  You embody way too much of what is wrong in the world today.  Not to mention, you act and dress tack-AY.  Stop with your crimes against humanity before someone calls the Hague.

Check out all the pictures, video and Met coverage for a few laughs, oohs and aahs.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your week, mes amis!

I’m In A Book Club!

We The Animals by Justin Torres

When I was a kid, I loved reading. Sadly, as the world wide web rapidly began growing during my early college years, so the time I spent reading began to conversely wain.  I’ve recently tried being more introspective and conscious of my limited free time by actually unplugging more often in hopes of making more time for what I used to love so much.

So when a friend asked if anyone wanted to create a book club, I immediately raised my hand. Last Sunday we had our first club meeting, where I met and laughed with some wonderful other young women who were definitely smarter than me and so inspiring.

Our first book, We The Animals by Justin Torres, was a quick-read about a young boy growing up poor in the 70s with his family of three coming-of-age boys and extremely young parents trying to find their way through a rough life. What started out as a light story quickly turned quite dark and startling by the end. I won’t give anything away, but <spoiler alert! not really but kinda> it left me very much afraid for the vulnerability of children. Yeah, it’s a Debbie Downer, but an excellent book no less. The club agreed that our next book would not be so depressing.

Debbie must have read We The Animals too… my sentiments, exactly, Debbie.

What should we read next? Now taking recommendations!!

Merci, mes amis!!  Hope you have a wonderful week!!
