Gratitude and Exhaustion

Bonjour, mes beaux amis!

wedding, banner, decor, rustic, planning, sign, announcement, lovebirds, love birds, 2014, reception, venue, dress, gown, flowers, floral, bridal, bride, partyOh how I have missed you and the blog!!! It has been quite some time since I was last here, but as you probably surmised from my previous few posts, I became unbelievably busy with a couple little projects called WEDDINGS!  I actually held two wedding receptions, one on the east and one on the west coast.  As any girl who’s planned their wedding knows, ONE wedding is enough to exhaust you – let alone two. Bonjour, mes beaux amis!!

I can’t believe how fast the week is flying by!  Especially since I’m still on a high from my past weekend… You see, this past weekend I was reminded just how fortunate I am to have so many beautiful girlfriends in my life.  Over lots of delicious glasses of wine, beautiful vineyard and cellar backdrops, and laughter to fill the entire day and night, I was reminded about how much a person needs his or her friends.

The Struggle to Stay Forever Young — Is Real

Bonjour, mes beaux amis!

For the past eight years, each summer sometime in July I start to reflect on the fact that I will be having another birthday within a few weeks.  I start thinking about the year that’s passed, as well as what’s to come.  And I mostly start to panic a little inside wondering if anyone can accurately guess my age – or worse yet, think I am older than I really am.  I also begin to reflect on all of the many little age-fighting secrets my mom shared with me as well as the few things I’ve discovered on my own in the last ten years.  Yes, the struggle is real – but the struggle can be overcome!! To Baby Or Not To Baby…

Bonjour. mes beaux amis!

I’ve been ruminating over the idea of talking about this subject for quite some time now, but I recently came to an epiphany about the whole thing.  You see, I’m in the latter half of my 30s, and now that I’m a certified adult, employed full-time with health benefits, and now (technically already) married, the big question is no longer years away, so distant that I don’t need to stare at its panic-slash-pressure-inducing face like I am now… Do we have kids or do we not?life decisions, parenting, parenthood, newlywed, new chapter, becoming a mother, friends are all having babies, baby shower, internal clock Continue reading

Bonjour, mes beaux amis!

This week has flown by already – I woke up this morning and couldn’t remember what day it was!  But I did realize I hadn’t blogged in a few days, and I was itching to say hello!

{On A Questlove for Fun}

Bonjour, mes beaux amis!

If you’re here in the US, you are most likely gearing up for your 4th of July weekend, hopefully filled with plans of barbecues, outdoor fun, friends & family, and of course catching some fireworks somewhere.  So to help you get through these last couple days before the holiday, I thought I’d share a couple exciting events happening here in Los Angeles, as well as a personal task that I’m adding to my ‘to-do’ list.  That personal task may involve lots of hoop-jumping and most likely a number of LESS-than-likely scenarios, but hey – a girl can try!

First, here’s a list of some exciting happenings in Los Angeles during this holiday weekend! Continue reading

{Weekend Reflections: July 1st ’14}

Bonjour, mes beaux amis!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  My weekends always seem to go by too quickly, but I’ve started mentally enjoying Mondays a bit more as a day of transition and reflection from the weekend into the craziness of the week.  Fortunately, my Mondays have recently become less hectic from go, and I definitely think it’s been a huge help to ease into the week as opposed to hitting the pavement fast-first.

This past weekend, I did some self-reflection about a number of things: Continue reading

{Eastbound & Definitely Not Down}

Bonjour, mes beaux amis!!

The past week has been whirlwind for me with travel, introducing my parents to my parents-in-law, and finalizing more wedding details. Needless to say, life has been hectic recently. But there’s no feeling like finding a home away from home in another great city, and for me that city is Philadelphia!  I have experienced some incredibly heartwarming and inspiring moments in Philly in between all the recent hectic times, and it’s those moments that have moved me to appreciate everything I have presently and the many blessings to come.

The best way to show my appreciation of those blessings is to share them with others – so, voilà! Continue reading

{Happy Weekend}

Bonjour, mes beaux amis!

It’s been many weeks since I’ve had a relatively quiet weekend at home… some travel, weddings, out-of-town guests.  So needless to say, I’m loving this weekend while I get to recharge, relax and regroup!  (Reminds me of A Different World‘s Whitley and her mantra, “relax – relate – release!”)

If you’re enjoying a fun action-packed or quiet unplanned weekend at home, here are a few awesome nuggets I found on the world wide internets this week. Continue reading
