Oh how I have missed you and the blog!!! It has been quite some time since I was last here, but as you probably surmised from my previous few posts, I became unbelievably busy with a couple little projects called WEDDINGS! I actually held two wedding receptions, one on the east and one on the west coast. As any girl who’s planned their wedding knows, ONE wedding is enough to exhaust you – let alone two. I can’t believe how fast the week is flying by! Especially since I’m still on a high from my past weekend… You see, this past weekend I was reminded just how fortunate I am to have so many beautiful girlfriends in my life. Over lots of delicious glasses of wine, beautiful vineyard and cellar backdrops, and laughter to fill the entire day and night, I was reminded about how much a person needs his or her friends.
For the past eight years, each summer sometime in July I start to reflect on the fact that I will be having another birthday within a few weeks. I start thinking about the year that’s passed, as well as what’s to come. And I mostly start to panic a little inside wondering if anyone can accurately guess my age – or worse yet, think I am older than I really am. I also begin to reflect on all of the many little age-fighting secrets my mom shared with me as well as the few things I’ve discovered on my own in the last ten years. Yes, the struggle is real – but the struggle can be overcome!! Continue reading →
I’ve been ruminating over the idea of talking about this subject for quite some time now, but I recently came to an epiphany about the whole thing. You see, I’m in the latter half of my 30s, and now that I’m a certified adult, employed full-time with health benefits, and now (technically already) married, the big question is no longer years away, so distant that I don’t need to stare at its panic-slash-pressure-inducing face like I am now… Do we have kids or do we not?Continue reading →
If you’re here in the US, you are most likely gearing up for your 4th of July weekend, hopefully filled with plans of barbecues, outdoor fun, friends & family, and of course catching some fireworks somewhere. So to help you get through these last couple days before the holiday, I thought I’d share a couple exciting events happening here in Los Angeles, as well as a personal task that I’m adding to my ‘to-do’ list. That personal task may involve lots of hoop-jumping and most likely a number of LESS-than-likely scenarios, but hey – a girl can try!
First, here’s a list of some exciting happenings in Los Angeles during this holiday weekend! Continue reading →
I hope you had a wonderful weekend! My weekends always seem to go by too quickly, but I’ve started mentally enjoying Mondays a bit more as a day of transition and reflection from the weekend into the craziness of the week. Fortunately, my Mondays have recently become less hectic from go, and I definitely think it’s been a huge help to ease into the week as opposed to hitting the pavement fast-first.
This past weekend, I did some self-reflection about a number of things: Continue reading →
The past week has been whirlwind for me with travel, introducing my parents to my parents-in-law, and finalizing more wedding details. Needless to say, life has been hectic recently. But there’s no feeling like finding a home away from home in another great city, and for me that city is Philadelphia! I have experienced some incredibly heartwarming and inspiring moments in Philly in between all the recent hectic times, and it’s those moments that have moved me to appreciate everything I have presently and the many blessings to come.
The best way to show my appreciation of those blessings is to share them with others – so, voilà! Continue reading →
It’s been many weeks since I’ve had a relatively quiet weekend at home… some travel, weddings, out-of-town guests. So needless to say, I’m loving this weekend while I get to recharge, relax and regroup! (Reminds me of A Different World‘s Whitley and her mantra, “relax – relate – release!”)
If you’re enjoying a fun action-packed or quiet unplanned weekend at home, here are a few awesome nuggets I found on the world wide internets this week. Continue reading →
